Curriculum Vitae

Jens Kauffmann was born on April 25th, 1977, in Berlin. He attended the "Königin Luise Stiftung" in Berlin-Dahlem until 10th grade and then to "Oberstufenzentrum für Recht" in Berlin-Charlottenburg where he took his school-leaving exams in English and Economics in 1998. Afterwards he rendered alternative civilian service at the Red Cross Berlin.

His apprenticeship as an actor began in 2000 at the legendary "Lee Strasberg - Theater Institute" in New York and was continued in 2002 at the "Lee Strasberg - Theater Institute" in Los Angeles. Additionally, he attended the “TAI resources – The Actors Institute“ under the directorate of Allen Schoer in New York and the "Actor Circle Theater School" under the directorate of Arthur Mendoza in Los Angeles.

During his school days, Jens Kauffmann worked in marketing and technics at a local radio station in Berlin. Since 2003 he has been increasing his apprenticeship by doing several placements at film productions and TV stations in Berlin where he focused on directing and script development.

Further important stages in his career were performances in Los Angeles and Berlin where he, amongst others, performed the play "Extasy und Honig" with the theater group "Reality Acting".

In 2006 Jens Kauffmann and Ilan Schulz set up the Label Independent Standard to produce their own audio plays. Jens Kauffmann takes part in finishing the scripts of the episodes and also plays one of the leading parts in their first audio play "Die Earlam Chroniken".

In September 2010 Jens Kauffmann produces the audio plays by himself.

In October 2008, he began additional studies of Theatre and Film Studies at the Freie Universität Berlin, which he successfully completed in the summer of 2015 with a master's degree.

In spring 2013 Jens Kauffmann founded the company Culinario Mortale with the writer/director Florian Norbert Bischoff and graphic designer Takeshi Otani. Together they publish, develop and distribute innovative whodunit games.
